Rwenzori Ne’byobuhangwa Bwethu Cultural Association in Kasese district, has called for the arrest of impersonators of herbalists he said were acting in a manner that risks lives.
During a stakeholders’ meeting held at the district headquarters over the weekend, Mr. Abdul Rwera, their chairperson who called for urgent interventions by government, said whereas the law was clear about herbal medicine use and her management, some people were impersonating herbalists, bonesetters and Traditional Birth Attendants thus, turning the sector into another risk. Earlier, Mr. Suliati Mumbere, the association speaker, called for quicker response by government against some traditionalists who are building shrines along Nyamwamba river and acting in a suspicious manner.
