After a decade of active engagement, Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has deactivated his account on social media platform X formerly twitter.
The account, which had amassed over a million followers, is no longer accessible.
He assured his followers of a possible return in the future at an appropriate time, when it becomes important and after fulfilling the Almighty God’s immediate assignment to restore everlasting peace and security to all His people in the region.
Muhoozi urged his followers to continue supporting Uganda and President Museveni.
In recent years, the general’s posts often made headlines, sparking both domestic and international reactions.
Notable among these were threats to expel US Ambassador to Uganda and capture Nairobi and Sudan, which strained Uganda’s relations with the nations.
Also his frequent online attacks on National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, could draw widespread attention.
In his final statement, shared six hours before deactivating his account, Muhoozi cited the need to focus on his military responsibilities as the reason for his departure. ENDS
