Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga, the Sate Minister for National Guidance has called on players in the tourism sector to identify and document more tourism attraction sites in the district to attract more tourists to the region.
Officiating at the launch of the 3rd edition of Theluji festival 2024 held at Verina gardens this afternoon, Hon. Kabbyanga said whereas national parks and lakes have commonly been popularized, agricultural, mineral and waterfalls tourism should be well documented to guide tourism in Kasese district and the region at large. Hon. Kabbyanga who appreciated the efforts of Kasese Tourism Investors’ Forum for rising awareness on tourism, asked the same forum to sensitize the community about the need to keep poultry which he said will not only supply products to the people turning up for the festivals but the neighbouring DR Congo where poultry and their products are a hot cake. Mr. Johnson Mbogha, a Kasese district tourism BoD member and coordinator of the festival slated August 24th said other than planting more trees and maintaining the existing greening, the community biodiversity run will start as early as June so as to timely identify the required talents that compete in the main marathon.
