    By Kyamanduma Patrick,

Water scarcity in Busongora North in Kasese district may soon be history after slow but study and successful interventions by Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa, the area Member of Parliament.

Speaking to our reporter shortly after receiving response from government that his request had been honored and a contractor identified for a gravity water scheme for greater Maliba yesterday, Hon. Sowedi asked the local community members to be flexible over some of their gardens that will host the water pipe and tanks without any compensation.

Hon. Sowedi who said his lobbying plans for water follows a general outcry by the local population during the 2021 general political campaigns, said government has also earmarked funds to enable the survey and designs for water supply in the greater Kitswamba area in Kasese district. Hon. Sowedi speaking……..

Hon. Rabison Magoma, the Kasese district councilor representing Maliba Sub County hailed Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa for his lobbying capacity for water that will cost about nine billion shillings.

    Mr. Magoma speaking………

He called for cooperation and support by the local community members he said have suffered enough over absence of clean and safe water. END.
