Water level in River Nyamwamba in Kasese district increased yesterday(16 July 2020) morning, causing panic in most flood prone areas especially in the lower Kasese Municipality.
The Chairperson LC one for Kanyangeya cell in Kasese Municipality Mr. Deo Isemamba who regretted the situation the fact that some of the local residents who recently returned to their homes were temporarily forced into the Internally displaced people`s camps called for urgent intervention by government to desilt the river.

The Kasese district Political boss, Mr. Geoffrey Bigogo said that his government was following the matter with Kampala which he said had sent some machinery to disilt the river that is currently blocked at some points, making it easy for water to pave their ways to the residential areas.
