    Water Crisis in Kasese Municipality.

    Water Crisis in Kasese Municipality has partly been attributed to the continuous dry spell and the high consumption of water during day time.

    According to the Area Manager National Water and Sewerage Cooperation Kasese branch, Mr. Ampaire Bryan, the population pressure and human activities in areas of temangalo, Kidodo, Kyanzuki cell in Bulembia division has increased compared to the past affecting the level of water reservoir at the source.

    Mr. Ampaire, who said the water treatment plant is closed at night and opened in the morning and evening hours for consumer consumption, appealed to the people to have water storage tanks at their homestead for water security.

    Mr. Ampaire said over 80% homesteads in the Municipality lack water storage tanks implying that at night people are not using water.

    He reported that NWSC is in the process of procuring a forty million liter tank next year to allow constant water flow.End
