Mr. Muhindi Collins David, has asked Government to consider a monthly remuneration for Village Health teams-VHTS.
VHT, s were established by the Ministry of Health to empower communities to take part in the decision that affect their health, mobilize communities for Health Programs and strengthen the delivery of Health care services at household level.
Addressing the press on Tuesday at Naume Gardens in Kasese town, shortly after declaring his intention for Busongora County North Parliamentary seat 2026 on NRM ticket, Collins said VHT, s are the first point of call whenever people fall sick in their homes and have also played a role of identifying pregnant mothers and identifying them on the need to go for antenatal care services.
Village Health teams are paid ten thousand shillings allowance per month which is inadequate compared to the services they offer to the community. Mr. Collins Muhindi speaking….
