Mr. Christopher Masaba, the senior warden for Queen Elizabeth National park has asked locals neighboring national parks to have a positive mindset to wildlife if it was to be relevant to the community.
The Wildlife scouts chosen from the community are to back Wildlife staff in guarding gardens against roaming wildlife.
Closing a one-day training wildlife scouts for Central and Nyamwamba divisions at Central division headquarters in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Mr. Masaba said national parks with their tradition importance of tourism, must be protected now that it is one of the biggest revenue source for Uganda.
Mr. Masaba later called for massive sensitization against poaching and un technically guided fishing methods that may end up rendering useless, these natural tourism and food sources. Mr. Masaba speaking..
He asked the trained wildlife scouts to report cases of vandalism and guide communities about the value of conserving the environment for future use. END
