The extension works for erecting of a 13.5 kilometer electric wire by Uganda wildlife Authority along Kayanzi-Nyamugasani and Nyakatonzi stretch of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese district has kicked off.
Mr. Moses Tsutsu and Peter Sunday Kakule, the local council three chairpersons for Isango and Nyakiyumbu sub-counties respectively confirmed that the contractor had commenced works of clearing the area demarcated by UWA engineers for work estimated to take about two months.
Mr. Tsutsu who attended the Nyakiyumbu sub-county council under the G8 solidarity, called for diversification among farmers he encouraged to grow food crops for both domestic and commercial purposes than the low pieced cotton now that the electric wire fence will soon be in place to boost production.
