There was an overwhelming turn-up of applicants seeking to join the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City this morning.
The exercise, which targeted 48 recruits from the Acholi sub region, attracted 627 applicants.
Hangi Bashir, the UWA Spokesperson, said that the recruitment team turned away hundreds of the applicants due to the limited slots available.
He said that some of the applicants failed to produce the required academic and identification credentials while others had health complications including Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
According to Hangi, they also registered several cases of influence peddling during the exercise, especially from political leaders.  Mr. Hangi on Recruitement……
UWA is undertaking a nationwide recruitment exercise of 850 rangers in a move to bridge the manpower gap. The exercise started on Monday and ended today. END.
