Students of Rwenzori College of Commerce have received training in effective communication to enhance voluntary tax compliance among taxpayers.
Ms. Vicky Felina Lodia, the Acting Supervisor for Tax Education at the Uganda Revenue Authority, said the training will play a vital role in promoting voluntary tax compliance.
She explained that URA chose to engage institutions of higher learning through the Voluntary Income Tax Assistant (VITA) program to help sensitize the public on tax laws and compliance.
In collaboration with the National Curriculum Development Centre, URA has also integrated taxation studies into the national curriculum.
