    UPDF repulse ADF in Kasese district trying to cross into Uganda

    A group of suspected members of the Allied Democratic force-ADF who attempted to cross into Uganda have been repulsed by the Uganda People’s defense forces-UPDF.

    Kasese Resident District Commissioner Lt. Joe Walunsimbi told Journalists today that the ADF rebels were forced away at Kisebere-in Nyabugando one cell, Nyabungando ward near Uganda’s boarder with the Democratic republic of Congo.

    Lt. Walunsimbi who rushed at the scene this morning said preliminary investigations alleged that the ADF rebels were targeting to access medicine at Mama Safina medical center and Nyabugando health centre three in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council.

    Walunsimbi commended residents of Kisebere for being security cautious and being collaborative with UPDF and other sister security agencies which he said helped the UPDF to repulse the ADF last night.

    He said that five other suspected ADF rebels are alleged to have remained on Ugandan side during fire exchange with UPDF, appealing to the public to provide information about suspected people in their areas. Lt. Walunsimbi speaking…..
