The Uganda People’s Defense Forces-UPDF has today handed to the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo 22 abductees rescued from the Allied Democratic forces-ADF.
Addressing the gathering at the former tactical centre of UPDF in Kasindi –DR-Congo, Col. George Jet, the commander sector of Operation Shujja, who represented Maj General.Richard Otto the commander Operation Shujja, said when UPDF is Persuing ADF in DR-Congo jungles has the mandate to rescue and rehabilitate abductees.

The rescued had received counselling, rehabilitation and skills in Uganda for six months to help them resettle in their communities with necessary life skills.
He urged the former abductees to be ambassadors of peace and utilize the life skills they attained to improve their livelihood for prosperity in their homes and communities.
