Uganda Peoples Defense Forces –UPDF and-FARDC yesterday(01st.June.2022) held talks in Fort Portal city to review the ongoing military operations in DRC.
The meeting follows a joint offensive that was launched by the two countries against ADF Rebels in Eastern Congo in November last year.
General Kayanja Muhanga of UPDF and General Bombele Camille of FARDC begun the engagement with a 12 km run in Fort Portal city.
In a press briefing held at Fort Fun City in Fort portal, Major General Kayanja Muhanga said the two generals had come to review the ongoing operations in DRC to ascertain the impact of their engagement since offensive started against the ADF Rebels.
General Kayanja said the operation in Congo is going on well and the situation is improving and people have begun returning to their homes.
Kayanja however admitted that recently a few incidents happed in Congo while a small group of armed rebels attacked a place called Bulongo in Eastern DRC and burnt vehicles and killed people.
Kayanja however rubbished claims that the joint forces would soon withdraw from eastern DRC, saying so far they have not yet received such instructions and the operation is going on as planned. Gen Kayanja on operations….

Camille also asked the population to volunteer intelligence information on the rebel activities to enable the operation become a success. End.
