The UPDF together with local leaders in Kabale district have cleaned Kabale town as part of the 43rd-anniversary celebrations of Tarehe Sita.
This collaborative effort involved a thorough cleaning campaign in several key locations within Kabale town, including Kabale Central Market, Owino Market, and Kamukira Health Center IV in the southern division of Kabale Municipality.
Led by Maj Godfrey Demoi Otim, commanding the 31 Battalion, alongside Kabale’s Resident District Commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, and Kigezi Regional Police Commander, Ibrahim Saiga, the initiative was aimed to clean the town.
RDC Nyakahuma emphasized that the UPDF’s participation in the cleanup is a gesture of gratitude towards Ugandans who supported the NRM during the war by providing intelligence, sustenance, and clothing, among other essentials.
He reiterated UPDF’s dedication to ensuring the collective security of Ugandans, highlighting the strong relationship between the military and civilians.
Kabale Municipality Central Division LC3 Chairman, Sam Arinaitwe, emphasized the significance of traders upholding cleanliness standards in Kabale Central Market and drainage systems. END.
