Teachers who decline to take up the vaccine against COVID-19 may not be allowed in for duty as schools open, the Kasese district Inspector of schools in –charge of sport, Mr. Jerome Kahyana has disclosed.
Speaking to Kasese Guide radio shortly after a sensitization meeting on COVID-19 vaccine of head teachers and their representatives yesterday, Mr. Kahyana indicated that the plan to open schools lies in the hands of teachers and the learners who are 18 years and above to be vaccinated first to a higher percentage guarantee their safety.
Mr. Kahyana who described the vaccine as safe, was particular that the Minister of Education and First lady Hon. Janettee Kataha Museveni had insisted that all teachers be vaccinated before a plan to open schools could materialize. Mr. Kahyana speaking……
