Police in Wandegeya have launched an investigation into the shooting and stabbing to death of Simon Peter Otim, a resident of Sebina zone- Kalerwe, Mulago III Parish, Kawempe Division.
According to detectives at Wandegeya police, Otim was attacked at 8:30 pm on Thursday while in his house with the family and a visitor.
Otim’s wife, daughter and the visitor fled to the bedroom where they closed themselves while screaming for help.
It is reported that the assailants pursued them and attempted to gain entry by pushing the door as they threatened to harm them too.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson said that the deceased’s neighbor’s found the victim lying in a pool of blood and they rushed him to Mulago National Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Mr. Onyango speaking….
Meanwhile, the police at Kawempe are investigating a fire incident that caused the death of a one-year-old boy, the son of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier Martin Ikwaru.
The incident happened yesterday at 11:00 pm at Kaayi Zone, Nabweru Division, in Wakiso District.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, said a matchbox and a small plastic container suspected to contain kerosene were recovered at the scene.
He also said that Ikwaru’s ex-wife Deborah Adu had been arrested over the incident. END.
