The Ministry of Education and Sports has appealed to Uganda National Teacher Union-UNATU to suspend its planned industrial action to ensure that the teaching-learning process is not disrupted.
UNATU has declared a nationwide strike at all levels starting this morning in their quest for equality and harmonization of the salary enhancement among teachers of different subjects, support staff, and school administrators.
Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaduccu, the state minister in charge of primary education, says there are other avenues through, which the government and teachers can sort the matter. Dr. Kaduccu on strike……..
Minister Kaduccu notes that once executed, the strike will be a big stumbling block in the sector, which has been trying to recover from the two yearlong unprecedented school closure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. End.
