Mr. Joshua Bwambale, the Chairperson Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU) for Kasese Municipality, is seeking an explanation from the Municipal authorities regarding the one percent monthly membership subscription dues.
While addressing the media yesterday in Kasese Town, Mr. Bwambale expressed concern over the poor accountability of the funds, which he said has crippled UNATU operations in the municipality ultimately contributing to poor performance among teachers.

In response, Mr. Zedekiya Kayiri, the Kasese Municipal Assistant Town Clerk, acknowledged the debt owed to UNATU.
He stated that the matter has been forwarded to the Human Resource Department for consideration.
