The Chairperson UNATU Kasese district, Mr.Samu Bwambale has urged Arts teachers to return to class this morning and teach as the Government is dedicated to handling their grievances.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after arriving in Kasese town yesterday(06.June.2022) after President Museveni meeting the leadership of UNATU from across the country, Mr. Samu said whereas President Museveni and UNATU didn’t agree about salary increment, he advised teachers to return to class as the Union engages Government about their protests.

Museveni says that they provided a position as government and pledged to competitively remunerate workers guided by a science-led strategy, something he says does not mean they have forgotten others.
Mr. Joshua Bwambale, the Chairperson UNATU Kasese Municipality advised teachers to report back to school as negotiations continue between Government and teachers representatives despite some challenges. Mr.Joshua on UNATU….
Kasese District education officer Mr. George Mayinja who described teachers as professionals said previously teachers were faced with intimidation from various Government organs about their salary increment, before president Museveni intervention over the matter.
