Primary school head teachers’ chairperson in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Erisa Muhindo has described as betrayers head teachers entertaining private teachers in their schools as the teachers’ industrial action, continues.

Teachers in public schools are servicing their week of their strike over low pay and salary discrepancies by government.
Speaking to our reporter at their Kasese district union head office yesterday, Mr. Erisa sounded disappointed that some head teachers were collaborating with school PTA and management committees for private teachers, a move he described as double standards and betrayal to the teachers’ strike. The Chairperson for UNATU in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Joshua Bwambale, called for no fears as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Sports, seeks for data about teachers reporting for duty, adding that that move was intended to back the meeting between the union leadership and government next week. The comments by the two leaders come at the apex of what many have perceived to be disgust by some parents who because of the unpredicted fate of their loitering children because of the teachers’ strike, have resorted to hiring private teachers, a move that is as a hammer to weaken the ongoing industrial action by educationists.
