Uganda’s positive COVID19 cases have increased to 616 following the confirmation of 23 more cases yesterday(07 June 2020), with seven being truck drivers who entered the country using Elegu, Mutukula and Mirama Hills border points.
While one of the cases is of a security guard from Elegu while another is a health worker, 14 cases were from alerts and contacts of people who have already tested positive.
The new cases
come at the time the Health Ministry is worried about the increasing number of
community cases being reported.
Dr Monica Musenero, an Epidemiologist and Senior Presidential Adviser on
Epidemics, says the country should prepare for high numbers of Covid19 cases. END
