It should have been a bad day for Hon. Fox Odoi-Oywelowo, a member of Uganda’s eleventh Parliament representing the West Budama North East constituency as he presented the minority report in support of the minority homosexuals.
It took several interventions by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among to save Hon. Fox Odoi-Oywelowo, a former senior legal counsel to President Yoweri Museveni from the seemingly irritated Legislators who did not what him to proceed.
Some of them shouted to remind him that time was ripe for the professional lawyer to refund to his sponsors all monies that was given to him over the motion.
During debate time, the most MPs explained that it is everyone’s responsibility to denounce the acts of homosexuality and save the future young generation.
Hon. Sarah Opendi, the Tororo woman MP proposed castration as punishment to homosexuals before like others, asking Parliament not to spend a lot of time debating homosexuality now that the country has a lot of problems to focus on. MPs debating……….
