Uganda’s COVID-19 cases have risen to 805 after eight cases tested positive from samples that were tested on Tuesday (23 June 2020).
Six of the confirmed cases are truck drivers who were picked from the border entry points of Malaba, Mutukula and Elegu, while two were community alerts from Kyotera and Amuru district.
Dr Matshidiso Moeti, the World Health Organization’s Regional Director for Africa says that countries need to be vigilant in controlling the spread of the disease as the number of cases reported on the continent continues to rise slowly but systematically. ENDS
