The Electoral Commission has confirmed that Uganda’s presidential elections will be held on January 15, 2026, marking the climax of the 2025–2026 general election roadmap.
During a press conference at the Commission’s headquarters yesterday, Justice Byabakama also reminded Ugandans that the law provides that campaigns for all elective positions shall cease 48 hours before polling day, meaning, campaigns will run up to January 13, 2026.

He revealed that the Commission is currently handling more than 200 petitions and complaints stemming from the recently concluded local government nominations. END
