Uganda today joins the rest of the world to celebrate world teacher’s day, with a call to appreciate the contribution of teachers in the country.
The world teacher’s day will be celebrated under the theme, “the transformation of Education begins with teachers”.
Mr. Joshua Masereka, the former Chairperson UNATU-Kasese branch, calls government to adopt the national teacher’s policy to reform the teaching profession. Mr. Joshua on teacher’s day….
The district celebrations will be held at Mpondwe primary school, while for Kasese municipality will be at Rwenzori square in Kasese town.
Every year, the World Teachers’ Day is celebrated globally in the month of October to honour and pay tribute to all the teachers.
The day is recognized to highlight the great role played by teachers and mentors in the lives of students.
According to UNESCO, World Teachers’ Day is a day to celebrate how teachers are transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation. END.
