The Bishop of the Diocese of Kasese Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has urged Christians to utilize the Advent season in fight against works of the darkness if they were to receive Christ holistically.
In his Homily on Sunday, November 27, while presiding over Holy Mass to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation, Bishop Kibira said Advent season is an opportune time for Christians to prepare against works of Satan that include, drug abuse, alcoholism, hatred, theft and fornication among others but rather live as trusted witnesses of the Good news.
On his part the Kakone Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Cosmas Baluku argued Christians against witchcraft and hypocrisy, saying that more than 7000 Christians have been baptized and more than 400 couples have wedded in the last ten years since the establishment of the parish.
The State National guidance, Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga who was the chief guest for a fund drive which took place after the confirmation, commended the ordinary of Kasese for various developments in the Diocese, including the recently completed multi-billion Centenary bank building and the ongoing construction of Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital.
Hon. Kabyanga re-echoed the first Rwenzururu King`s philosophy that requires the Banya-Rwenzururu to educate their children if they were to be independent.
The late Isaya Mukirane, the first Rwenzururu King popularized the use of a pen and paper for being the best tool and solution against what the then kingdom subjects saw as marginalization.
Making sense of the saying that birds of the same feathers flock together, Hon. Kabyanga told Christians that it was unusual for a primary two drop out to marry a medical doctor but rather a baby sitter.
He asked parents and guardians to put more value and taste to their families by educating their children.
The former Rwenzururu Kingdom Spokesperson later described as a curse from the late Isaya Mukirania to any family that do not value education that His Majesty Charles Mumbere, has vastly popularized.
