Two people who were killed after they were swept away by River Kyangumirya in Bulembia Division Kasese Municipality were laid to rest yesterday, with a call for vigilance on disaster occurrences.
Mbunga Sub-County speaker Hon. Fabian Mbaju identified the deceased as, Amos Masereka sharp 32 and late Arnold Bwambale, a senior four student at Rwenzori Christian Vocational secondary school in Kasese town.
Hon. Fabian urged people staying in mountainous areas and along the river bank to conserve the environment through afforestation.

Mr. Nyesio Kahumulha, a parent to late Amos Masereka told Kasese guide radio that the deceased met his death shortly after returning from Basecamp trading center but unfortunately had to made a stopover at Kyangumirya river to assist his friend late Anold who was reportedly distilling Waragi. Meanwhile, the deputy speaker Kasese district Hon. Nelson Masereka has advised the public to desist from illegal fishing activities.
Speaking to Kasese guide guide radio shortly after the burial of two people that reportedly fell into a deep valley that was filled with running water and drowned last evening in Lyamubuza, Hon. Nelson asked the community to think about safety of their lives than engaging in dubious activities that puts their lives on danger. Hon. Nelson on fishing ….
