Two suspected notorious thieves survived lynching from an angry mob today, in Lyamubuzi cell Muhokya town council in Kasese district, over allegations of stealing two goats.
As our reporter waits for a Police comment, Mr. Moses Kalisya, the chairperson local council one for Lyamubuzi cell has confirmed and identified the suspects as, Mr. Magogomasi Mumbere 30 and Christopher Kalikuku Mumbere 32 years, all residents of Kateleba cell in Kyalhumba town council.
Kalisya said the suspects reportedly stole the goats from Rwabihungu village in Lake Katwe sub-county this afternoon but were intercepted in Lyamubuzi cell, after locals raised an alarm that attracted unknown farmers who pounced on them, leading for the intervention of the local leadership and Muhokya Police who later rescued the suspects by press time. Mr. Kalisya commended the local community for being security cautious, but advised those engaged in theft to denounce the vice or risk losing their lives. END.
