Police at Rwenzori East Regional headquarters has arrested two men on allegations of conning teachers seeking government Jobs in Kasese district.
ASP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Police spokesperson confirmed the arrest and identified the suspects as one Mr. Yofesi Muyanda 38, a resident of Nsenyi cell in Kisinga town council and Mr. Augustine Masereka, a self-styled job broker hailing from Kajwenge village in Kisinga Sub County.
Mr. Longino Mukusa, the coordinator for Volunteers anti-corruption Africa in Kasese said the suspects had been transferred to the regional police headquarters for better management of the file.
He also said his office would continue fighting against bribery attempts for civil service in Kasese district. Mr. Mukusa speaking……..
Madam Sarah Muhindo, a victim of the reported scam and a resident of Kidodo cell in Kasese Municipality said Mr. Yofesi Muyanda received close to three million shillings reportedly requested for by the line officials at the Kasese district headquarters to win a government job as a teacher. Mdm. Miriam Mbambu, a private teacher for eleven years said she had also lost 2.5 million shillings in the hands of the same men. END.
