The National drug Authority, in collaboration with the Police in Kasese, has arrested two people for illegal possession of government drugs.
The suspects were found with the Anti-retroviral drugs intended for HIV patients, allegedly stolen from government health facilities in Kasese through a syndicate.
Addressing the press today at Kasese Central police station in Kasese town after a two days operation, Mr. Abiaz Rwamwiri, the National Drug Authorities Public Relations Manager who confirmed the information identified the suspects as, Mr. Paul Bwambale Makanika, a pharmacist in Kasese town and Ms. Justine Ithungu a health worker at St. Paul’s Hospital attached to art clinic, who were allegedly found with five hundred tins of ARVS, worthy over one hundred million shillings.

He said the two suspects will be transported to Kampala for interrogation, after allegations that the drugs could have been supplied to the Allied Democratic Forces-ADF in DR-Congo.
