Some local traders at the recently built multibillion Kasese main market have reportedly vacated over failure to have the facility connected to reliable electricity power, Kasese Guide Radio can reliably report.
The affected operators claim that since September last year, the Main market has been under darkness, a situation they say negatively affect their businesses.
In an interview with Mr. Yofesi Kule, a tailor with electronic tailoring machines that have not been functional for months, said his decision was forced by the losses incurred over absence of power despite the fact that Kasese leadership had maintained taxes and rental fees.

Mr. Muhindo Jophesi, the Umeme manager for Kasese said the laid underground power line to the market power house had development a technical problem and replacing it with an overhead cable is the best and cheaper option. Mr. Jophes speaking……….
The Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Chance Kahindo apologized and called for calm among the traders, adding that by the end of this Month, the required fifteen million shillings to fix the power will have been paid to Umeme for work. Mr. Chance speaking…….
