    Three people & a couple arrested with stolen cow beef

    Three people including one couple have been arrested with beef from a reported stolen cow in Katonzi cell, Bulembia division in Kasese Municipality.

    Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region, ASP Nelson Tumushime confirmed the information and identified the suspects as one Mr. Augustine Masereka and his wife Ms Gertrude Kabugho, both residents of Isule parish in Maliba Sub County, and Mr. Isaya Walina, a suspected notorious thief based in Nyamwamba Division.

    The Chairperson for Basecamp lower cell neighboring Katonzi cell said theft cases were rampant in the area over the reluctance of the local community members and the political power hungry leaders who fear to open up against un lawlessness over politics. Mr. Kigutiha speaking…

    Ms Lydia Masika, an eye witness during the arrests and a local resident of Basecamp upper cell attributes the increasing cases of theft to some women who use their bars for shielding suspects.

    She was also concerned that some women were not able to question the deliveries at home that are beyond the capacity of their husbands.
