The industrial action by teachers in Kasese continues even after President Museveni’s warning

The industrial action by teachers in Kasese continues after President Museveni asked them to report for duty lose it all.

In Kasese Municipality like elsewhere in Kasese district, our reporter says it were only head teachers at school with teachers reportedly at home waiting for guidance from their national leadership.

At Kasese, St. Peters and Nyakasanga primary schools, the head teachers said it has not been any single task asking the teachers to report for duty before their concerns are addressed.

Whereas most community members and parents were disappointed about the actions by teachers, the imbalance in salaries announced for science teachers compared to their arts counterparts, leaves mixed reactions.

Kasese Guide radio is yet to know whether the teachers were withdrawing from their bank accounts salaries they say isn’t enough and did not work for. END
