The District Councilor representing Karusandara sub-county, Hon.Christopher Macumu, has urged farmers to engage in active production now that the local community have reportedly erected a temporary wire fence along the Queen Elizabeth National park boundary.
Hon. Macumu said the short term intervention is meant to prevent Elephants invasion into crop garden since UWA has pledged to construct an electric wire soon.
In an interview with Kasese guide radio this afternoon in Kasese town, Macumu however called for expedited process by UWA to ensure the electric wire is put into place before next planting season.

Just last Month, a twenty seven year old man identified as, Late Tadeo Tumwesigye a resident of Kabaka village in Karusandara sub county in Kasese district was killed by a stray elephant as he was grazing cows near Queen Elizabeth national park.END
