The Coordinator Kasese fish farmers cluster Mr. Ategeka Laxis has indicated that improved livelihood in the district can partly be met through fish farming.
While making a presentation on commercial fish farming at the end of two day training for Nyamwamba Fish farmers cluster held at Vision gardens Kibenge in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, Mr. Ategeka said a baseline survey conducted recently indicated that fish farmers along Nyamwamba valley lacked adequate knowledge on fish pond management.
Mr. Ategeka, who reported that farmers had been regularly trained on fish management used the same platform appealing to the participants to properly utilize the skills and knowledge acquired.

Mr. Johnson Masereka Bayihohya, an agricultural officer for Kisinga sub-county and town council, said proper feeding, quality seed and good agronomic practices are necessary for a profitable commercial fish farming.
