The 11th. Parliament of Uganda has adopted a report by the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources regarding the petition by Tibet – Hima Mining Company Limited against the termination of a concession agreement with the Government of Uganda.
During the 2nd meeting at parliament on Wednesday among other items on the order paper, to adopt a motion on the committee’s report, the house was debating her committee’s reports on the ability of Tibet-Hima whose contract the Government of Uganda terminated in 2018 after failing to satisfy the interests of the agreement to revamp Kilembe Mines limited
According to Kasese district leadership, Tibet-Hima did not only fail to do the job but could not bring on board as a Consortium of 8 companies, after seven partners could not show up.
Responding to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources report, Parliament led by her Speaker, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among was convinced that Tibet – Hima Mining Company Limited wasn’t worth being given another contract and running to court after government sourced for another investor, was an empty move according to a press statement by Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Kasese Municipal legislator.
