Mr. Ernest Thabugha, the Kasese District Education officer has called for professionalism among teachers he asked to stick to quality work to defend their roles.
He described grapevine communication, financial mismanagement and poor attitude towards work as some of the causes of poor performance in many teaching institutions in the district.
Addressing education stakeholders at Kasese multipurpose hall in Kasese municipality during the official release of the 2024 PLE results over the weekend, Mr. Thabugha later called for double efforts by those he called influential religious, political and locals leaders whose voice can easily be understood about the importance of education.

Earlier, Mr. Enos Kule Kiryangwa, the head teacher for Mahango primary school who congratulated his school for improved performance, asked parents and guardians to support their children in school, as well as arguing school heads to fully implement the education and sports ministry guidelines.
