Mr. Earnest Thabugha, the Kasese district education officer has asked teachers not to succumb to pressure from their Uganda National Teachers’ Union leadership over the ongoing industrial action but rather turn for duty.
Speaking to Our Reporter at Kasese Multi -purpose hall in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, Mr. Thabugha who sympathizes with the teachers over low salaries, was not happy with the strike at a time finalists were preparing for national examinations.
He asked parents and guardians to doubles their surveillance approaches for the good of the learners until government and teachers agree on the next course of action. Mr. Thabugha on teachers…………
The chairperson for UNATU in Kasese district, Mr. Joshua Kiregheya, asked the education officer to ably engage President Museveni over their demands, thereby, reaffirming the safety of teachers and head teachers involving in what he called a lawful strike. Mr. Joshua speaking……
