There has been a confirmed death from Ebola in Uganda’s western Kagadi region bringing to four the number of districts affected by the disease.
Kagadi is about 100 km (62 miles) from Mubende where the first cases were reported earlier this month.
There have been 35 confirmed Ebola cases and seven deaths.
President Yoweri Museveni has ruled out a lockdown of affected areas.
Meanwhile, one of the six health workers who contracted Ebola has passed on this morning at Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital.
He is Dr. Mohammed Ali, a 37-year-old Tanzanian national.
Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng has announced on her official Twitter handle saying she regrets to announce the loss of their first doctor, Dr. Mohammed Ali, a Tanzanian National, 37yr old Male who died at 3:15am.
He tested positive of Ebola on Sept 26, 2022 and died while receiving treatment at Fort Portal RRH, Isolation facility. ENDS
