The Bishop of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has urged Catholic legislators to invest Spiritual nourishment he said will cement their ways with the Creator.
Presiding over the Pontifical Mass and lighting of the Christmas tree for the Catholic parliamentarian at the Parliament Catholic Chaplaincy last evening, Bishop Kibira asked the legislators to collaborate with the clergy in reminding the Lay Faithful on their role in Church and popularizing plans for social transformation.
Using an allegory of the rich man’s four wives representing the body, material possessions, relationships, and beauty, Bishop Kibira who argued Catholic legislators against polygamous marriages and love for quick wealth, asked them to work on their faith in the lord as means to save their souls. The Ordinary of Kasese later said whereas the Catholic Church was not directly involved in the politics of Uganda, it’s her role to awaken the consciousness of the citizens and mainly the Members of Parliament whose legislative role should protect the Church and God’s people.
