Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi, the Kasese district boss has called for close supervision of the solar powered water project in Kalamya parish – Kahokya subcounty in Kasese district.
Addressing the excited local residents during an official handover of the site to the contractor yesterday, Mr. Muhindi who called the parish water committee to be vigilant as work commences, asked the locals to own the project by ensuring the safety of materials and supervising the personnel he asked to be accountable. Mr. Nyesio Bwambale Byamutima, the local council three chair for Kahokya subcounty, hailed government for the project he said will serve the parish with 10 tap stands, before reminding the locals that there was no compensation for any encroachment on their pieces of land.

Ms Teopista Kimera, a mother in the areas, described the project as a dream come true over a water challenge that had not only caused domestic violence but also threatened the lives of young girls and women who walk long distances for water. Mrs. Kimera speaking…..
According to Mr. Zimonia Rukunga, a Kasese District Water Engineer, the two months construction work by Ms Nexus green company limited, will cost about forty five mission shillings. END
