Stunted growth among children in Kasese district is on an increase, a health expert has warned saying if there is no special attention given to them the future may be worse.

This was revealed by Bwambale Hashim a nutritionist at Bwera hospital yesterday while speaking to our reporter, he said that due to poor feeding they now receive 15 cases of malnourished children per day.

Meanwhile Asiimwe Zainab the Kasese district senior probation and welfare officer in her assessment noted that men have abandoned their families due to domestic violence. She pledged to look for such men so that they can fulfill their responsibilities.

    Zainab speaking………..

Kabugho Benalita a single mother from Ihandiro subcounty, taking care of 8 people with a stunted child now at hospital asked for immediate help. She noted that as she takes care for the sick child at hospital, the other young ones at home remain without a caretaker.

    Ms Bnalita speaking….

Stella Mutsuba who is over 75 years old taking care of a grandchild who was abandoned by both her parents also seeks for support so as to have the child alive. ENDS
