Mr. Pimako Kasereka, the Nyamwamba Division local council three chairperson in Kasese Municipality has directed his Community Development Officer to arrest street children, their parents and guardians for the safety of lives and property.
He said whereas many people were politicizing the exit of street children in his Division, their presence was largely causing what he described as hell to the locals.
In the state of his division’s affairs’ address during council sitting today, Mr. Pimako said plans to resolve the street kid challenge should indiscriminately be dealt with alongside projects against Gender based and Domestic Violence that are putting the vocation of marriage to test.
Mr. Pimako who however warned the technical people against perceiving the plans for personal interests, was concerned that street kids, he blamed mainly to the recklessness of parents, must be dealt with without any favors. Mr. Pimako speaking1……
In the same interview shortly after the same council sitting presided over by Hon. Gerald Muzora, Mr. Pimako said he had written to Kasese Municipality over the deadly river Nyamwamba that requires a bridge that connects Nyakasanga to Kihara Ward.
He called for joint efforts against thieves for the safety of lives and property during the Christmas festivals. END
