Mr. Posiano Niyibigaba, the local council one chairperson for Kibuga village in Karusandara sub-county in Kasese district like his counterpart in Kanyangeya main in Kasese municipality, Mr. Doe Isemamba has reechoed their earlier demand for expedited plans against stray elephants threatening lives in their areas.
The duo indicated that stray elephants have on several occasions crossed from Queen Elizabeth national park to their areas through the un fenced parts of the national park they think need to be covered with urgency.
Mr. Niyibigaba who faulted game rangers for turning a deaf ear over the destructive beasts, told this radio last evening that whereas Karusandara has been famous for regional food production, the repeated invasion of gardens by stray elephants, was likely to frustrate the trend for food insecurity. Mr. Niyibigaba speaking……
To Mr. Isemamba, whereas there were signs by Uganda Wildlife Authority to begin the fencing project, nothing much had been done, leaving his cell vulnerable to the destructive stray wild animals that the game rangers deployed by UWA seem unbothered about.
Mr. Isemamba speaking……..
Just yesterday, Mr. Dovico Kule, the Kikorongo village local council one chairperson in Lake Katwe subcounty in Kasese district called for urgent intervention by Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese district chairperson against a stray elephant that has caused panic among the local residents of Kikorongo trading center.
