    By Kyamanduma Patrick,

Residents of Nyakiyumbu sub-county in Kasese district are getting anxious over the presence of stray dogs in the area.

The stray dogs cited in the villages of Nyakiyumbu two, three and Musisyo have become a threat in the area and a danger to the lives of the residents, who fear some of the dogs may infect them with rabies.

Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio last evening the chairperson local council one Nyakiyumbu two village, Mr.Isaac Bahati Bibirwa, said during a manhunt of the stray dogs only two have been killed.

    Mr. Bahati one speaking…..

Mr. Bahati who  noted that stray dogs seems to be hidden in vanilla gardens, called for collaborated effort to have them killed, saying they allegedly expose lives of people at danger since they are not immunized.

    Mr. Bahati two speaking…..

The post-exposure prophylaxis treatment for rabies costs between 80,000 to 240,000 thousand shillings, which is scarce in most health facilities. END.
