Local in Muhokya subcounty in Kasese district and her neighboring areas are said to be living in fear following a pride of lions that wandered out of Queen Elizabeth National Park, invading the area.

Mr. Asanairi Mugusu Challenger, the sub-county chairperson for Muhokya said the situation was made worse when Uganda Wildlife official confirmed that the wild beasts had been sighted in Busambu cell in Muhokya Town Council and Buduka-Kibiri in Muhokya sub-county over the weekend.
Mr. Mugusu however said there was a ray of hope when officials from Uganda Wildlife Authority arriving in the area to ensure the safety of the people and their livestock should the beasts that were forced down wards into the national park, return. In a phone interview this morning, Mr. Bashir Hanji, the Communications Manager for Uganda Wildlife Authority, reported that the lions with collar site signals, are now at the peripheries of the national park back to the bushes.
