Mr. Rasmas Kyarukuranda Owomugisa, an official working with Climate change Institute Uganda has observed that poor waste disposal in Kasese town is likely to destroy the new road infrastructure that was constructed under the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development Program-USMID.
He made the observation yesterday after a cleaning exercise of Kasese town, by Kasese P.7 School in partnership with Climate change institute Uganda.
Owomugisa said residents are now using the newly built drainage channels as dumping grounds for all kinds of garbage including plastics and human waste among others.
He appealed to Kasese Municipal leadership to implement by-laws restricting unnecessary garbage disposal by the public.
