The current political leadership of Kasese Municipality should not claim to have lobbied the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) program that translated into the 54 billion shillings road works in Kasese town, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner has said.
Lt. Walunsimbi’s comments could have been triggered by the statements made on 11th November, 2025 in Nyakasanga III Ward by Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Kasese municipal MP and NRM flag bearer who attached his political address during his political campaign launch to USMID program funds and the subsequent phase two that will see the municipality receive more than seventy billion shillings under UCMID. Hon. Ferigo speaking…….
Addressing the locals during a security meeting for Basecamp Ward at Base-Camp primary school on Sunday, Lt. Walunsimbi who hailed government for the funds, asked Kasese politicians to be truthful and appreciate their predecessors who made their official roles easier.
He said whereas he commends the current political leadership in Kasese Municipality for being accountable, the USMID funds were lobbied before they came into leadership. Lt. Walunsimbi speaking…….
Lt. Walunsimbi later asked the local community members to support the ruling government to protect the gains. END
