The Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Busongora County, Mr. Zepher Mubingwa has threatened to cancel the registration of stone miners along River Mubuku should they fail to adhere to technical guidelines.
During a harmonization meeting at Mubuku town council head offices yesterday where Bugoye and Karusandara subcounties, and Mubuku town council were represented, Mr. Mubingwa said both the conflicting CHTICHE supplies, a licensed stone miner along the river and the youth group should be registered and be guided technically or else, their activities would be halted forthwith to save Mubuku River that is largely a source of livelihoods to the community.
